John is the owner of a freight forwarding company and a former President of Bexhill Rotary Club. He is a very keen football and motor racing fan. He watches Liverpool play whenever possible and is a keen attendee at Grand Prix motor racing circuits.

He is a lifetime supporter of Liverpool and was born and bred in the city, so we can forgive him! He is also a great fan of the 1066 Specials and during his Presidential year the Bexhill Rotary Club contributed over £2,500 to the Club funds.

He is a great believer in being a ‘hands-on’ member of the Trustees, and he demonstrated this by organising a desperately needed team of volunteers to help at the 2007 Tournament.

A born and bred Bexhillian and for many years the owner of a Family Bakery Business in Bexhill, now gratefully retired from the bakery business but still very active in business and the local community.

I am delighted to be able to use my time, skills and contacts to help others who are less fortunate than myself. Having been privileged to serve as Mayor of Bexhill I was able to spread the word of our exciting club the 1066 specials in its very early days.

I feel privileged to work with a such a fine team of people, all with the same purpose, that of promoting and helping to develop our club, all looking to enhance and safeguard the best interest of the club and it’s members.

My community work also includes the membership of the Rotary Club of Senlac, Chairman of the 2nd Bexhill Scouts and Chairmanship of the League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital, each and every one very special to our community. All the time I have the health, energy and support, I will endeavour to do my best to encourage and foster the best facilities for our community.

I am married with 3 grown up children and a partner in a local firm of Solicitors. We have lived in the area since 1981 and moved to Hastings Old Town, in 2006.

I am a former Chairman of Bexhill Round Table and Bexhill 41 Club. I am currently President of Bexhill Rotary Club. I am a former Parent Governor and former Chairman of the Governors of Bexhill High School.

Until relatively recently I played hockey and enjoy playing tennis and golf when I have the chance. Most of my exercise these days is taking our black Labrador Harry on long walks in Hastings Country Park.

I have always enjoyed playing and watching football, although my playing career ended a long while ago. I first went to see Fulham when they were in the old First Division in about 1966. I have followed them down and up again, ever since. The highlight has to be The Cup Final1975 when we lost 2-0 to West Ham with Alan Mullery and Bobby Moore in the team. I still watch them now. The last time was in September when they lost …….1-2 to West Ham! Now my favourite team is 1066 Specials.
