Hello and welcome to the home page for the coaches. At 1066 Specials FC our coaches follow a coaching format that provides the adults and children with the opportunity to have fun and improve.
About the Coaching

Our aim in each session is to repeat and build on the prior learning from previous sessions to help the players improve on the 3 key areas outlined above.
Each session starts with a dynamic warm up that is based on balance and coordination. We teach our skills session through games breaking down the skill we teach as we go along. We finally finish with short game of football where the players can apply what they have learned.
All our coaches including myself are volunteers and give up their time to coach, attend matches and tournaments. In return the club offers our coaches training opportunities with most of us now at least FA level one or 2 trained.
I am very proud of the achievement of all the players and coaches who have been through the club over the last 5 years and those that who are still with us continuing to make good progress. It is a credit to all that we now also have older players supporting the coaching in the junior sessions.
Parent feedback has also always been very positive with many saying that as a result of their child/children’s attendance over a consistent period of time they have improved their balance, coordination, skill, social skills and muscle strength.
All that’s left for me to say a big thank you to my coaching team as without their efforts the fantastic opportunities they provide for the adults and children would not take place. I have had some of the most rewarding times over the last 5 years with the 1066 Specials so if you are interested in football coaching come and join one of the best coaching teams in 1066!
